Taxonomy
Neocardioceras minutum was named by Cobban (1988). Its type specimen is USNM 400894, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Mesozoic D4462, Black Hills, which is in a Cenomanian marine siliciclastic in the Greenhorn Formation of Wyoming.
