Brancoceras aegoceratoides was named by Steinmann (1881). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Brancoceras (Eubrancoceras) aegoceratoides by Breistroffer (1951), Robert (2002); it was recombined as Eubrancoceras aegoceratoides by Kennedy and Klinger (2008).
