Taxonomy
Rhaeboceras coloradoense was named by Cobban (1987). Its type specimen is USNM 413044, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Mesozoic 16093, Reservoir No. 3, which is in a Campanian marine sandstone in the Pierre Shale Formation of Colorado.
