Taxonomy
Micromelerpeton ulmetense was named by Boy (2002). Its type specimen is GPIM-N 2013, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality S1, Ulmet, which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic horizon in the Meisenheim Formation of Germany.
