Taxonomy
Primus cheemai was named by Lindsay and Flynn (2016). Its type specimen is PMNH 2001, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Z113, which is in an Aquitanian terrestrial horizon in the Chitarwata Formation of Pakistan.
