Taxonomy
Paranolis delicatus was named by Smith (2011). Its type specimen is USNM 527969 (left dentary) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Elk Creek (390 m), which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the Willwood Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Paranolis.
