Taxonomy
Parasaniwa cynochoros was named by Nydam (2013). Its type specimen is UMNH VP 21180 (partial right maxilla) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UMNH VP Loc. 1268, which is in a Campanian terrestrial horizon in the Kaiparowits Formation of Utah.
