Taxonomy
Pseudopalatus mccauleyi was named by Ballew (1989). It is not extant. Its type locality is Dry Creek Tank SE (UCMP V82040, PFV 55), which is in a Norian terrestrial horizon in the Chinle Formation of Arizona.
It was recombined as Machaeroprosopus mccauleyi by Hungerbühler et al. (2013), Stocker and Butler (2013), Parker et al. (2013).
