Taxonomy
Plectambonites glabra was named by Shaler (1865). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Sowerbyella (Eochonetes) glabra by Dewing (1999); it was recombined as Thaerodonta glabra by Jin and Zhan (2008); it was recombined as Eochonetes glabra by Bauer and Stigall (2016).
