Taxonomy
Bellatara ankaraensis was named by Islamoglu et al. (2011). Its type specimen is MTA-Y.İ.-2007-45, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pseudobellardia ankaraensis by Harzhauser et al. (2013).
