Taxonomy
Planorbis alienatus was named by Eames (1952). Its type specimen is BMNH G.68471, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fossil Bed F.2091, Rakhi Nala, which is in a Bartonian estuary/bay shale in the Drazinda Formation of Pakistan.
