Taxonomy
Pristis mucrodens was named by White (1926). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ameki, SE of, which is in a Bartonian deep-water horizon in the Ameki Formation of Nigeria.

It was recombined as Anoxypristis mucrodens by Cappetta and Case (2016).
