Taxonomy
Scutellum cunctatum was named by Reed (1931). Its type specimen is HM A1062 [lectotype selected by Howells 1982], a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a mold.

It was recombined as Kosovopeltis cunctata by Howells (1982).
