It was recombined as Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax by Boule and De Villeneuve (1927), Rudenko (1960), Weesie (1988), Jaume et al. (1993), Seguí et al. (1997), Burchak-Abramovich and Burchak (1998), Mlikovsky (2002), Pavia and Bedetti (2003), Bedetti and Pavia (2007), Clements et al. (2017), Carrera et al. (2018), Marqueta et al. (2025).
It was recombined as Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax by Boule and De Villeneuve (1927), Rudenko (1960), Weesie (1988), Jaume et al. (1993), Seguí et al.
