Leucocephalus wewersi was named by Day et al. (2018). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SAM-PK-K11112, a skull. Its type locality is Amandelboom farm, which is in a Wuchiapingian fluvial siltstone in the Teekloof Formation of South Africa.
