Taxonomy
Turricula waringi was named by Nelson (1925). Its type specimen is UC 30572, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP Loc. 3775, Runkle Canyon, Simi Hills, which is in a Selandian/Thanetian marine horizon in the Santa Susana Formation of California.
