Taxonomy
Protomycena electra was named by Hibbett et al. (1997). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (Morone Amber Collection), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic. It is the type species of Protomycena.
