Taxonomy
Actinomena occidens was named by Oraspold (1956). It is the type species of Keilamena.

It was recombined as Stropheodonta occidens by Laskovas et al. (1993); it was recombined as Keilamena occidens by Rõõmusoks (1993), Roomusoks (2004); it was recombined as Strophomena (Keilamena) occidens by Williams et al. (2000) and Hints and Harper (2004); it was misspelled as Keilamena accidens by Paškevičius (2016).
