Taxonomy
Myotis belgicus was named by Gunnell et al. (2017) [urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:65A2D5F3-7655-4F02-8007-F6B4C0DA18EB]. Its type specimen is IRSNB M 2172, a mandible (right dentary with m1-3 and alveoli for i1-3, c, and p2-4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Boutersem TGV, which is in a Rupelian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone in the Borgloon Formation of Belgium.
