Meekospira baytuganensis was named by Mazaev (2018). Its type specimen is PIN 4919/29-23, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tatarskii Baitugan, locality 4919/29, which is in a Roadian marine sandstone in the Kamyshla Formation of the Russian Federation.
