It was recombined as Pycnodonta navicularis by Lecointre and Ranson (1952); it was recombined as Pycnodonte navicularis by Robba (1968); it was recombined as Neopycnodonta navicularis by Marasti (1973), Freneix et al. (1988), Bosselaers et al. (2004); it was recombined as Neopycnodonte navicularis by Kiessling (2009).
