Taxonomy
Euspira popenoei was named by Murphy and Rodda (1960). Its type specimen is UCLA 28635 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 3464, which is in an Albian/Cenomanian marine sandstone in the Budden Canyon Formation of California.
