Taxonomy
Qiyangia loxos was named by Chen and Xu (1980). Its type specimen is NIGPAS 47603 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Guanyintan, Qiyang (Guanyintan Formation), which is in a Jurassic fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Guanyintan Formation of China. It is the type species of Qiyangia.
