Xenocrinidae was named by Miller (1890). It is not extant. Its type is Xenocrinus.

It was assigned to Xenocrinacea by Ubaghs et al. (1978), Ausich and Copper (2010); and to Monobathrida by Strimple and McGinnis (1972), Ausich and Cournoyer (2019).
