Taxonomy
Protoscutella pentagonium was named by Cooke (1942). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Falling Water [Tampa Limestone], which is in a Chattian/Aquitanian shallow subtidal limestone in the Arcadia Formation of Florida.
