Taxonomy
Pecten vajolettensis was named by Wittenburg (1908). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sojaltal and Vajolettal, above Mazzin (Werfen Fm.), which is in an Olenekian marine horizon in the Werfen Formation of Italy.
