Taxonomy
Modiolus sookensis was named by Clark and Arnold (1923). Its type specimen is UCMP IP 30256 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kirby Creek, upstream, which is in a Chattian marine sandstone in the Sooke Formation of Canada.
