Taxonomy
Parvericius was named by Koerner (1940) [status called into question by L. Macdonald 1972, but no action taken, and genus upheld by all later authors]. It is not extant. Its type is Parvericius montanus.
It was synonymized subjectively with Amphechinus by Van Valen (1967).
It was assigned to Erinaceidae by Koerner (1940), Rich (1981); and to Amphechinini by Gunnell et al. (2008).
