Taxonomy
Neospirifer borealis was named by Manankov (2019). Its type specimen is PIN 3159/11, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Mt. Ikh-Uldziit, left bank of Khurakhu Gol River, which is in a Capitanian marine siliciclastic in the Uldza Formation of Mongolia.
