Cyathoforma carolinensis

Taxonomy
Pecopteris carolinensis was named by Emmons (1856). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Ellington's, Rhynie Wicker's property, which is in a Triassic terrestrial shale/bituminous coal in North Carolina.

It was recombined as Laccopteris carolinensis by Fontaine (1883); it was synonymized subjectively with Asterocarpus falcatus by Knowlton (1919); it was recombined as Cyathoforma carolinensis by Bock (1969).
