Taxonomy
Rigbyocarpus ebracteatus was named by Tidwell (1967). It is not extant. Its type locality is Manning Canyon, which is in a Mississippian terrestrial shale in the Manning Canyon Shale Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Rigbyocarpus.
