Taxonomy
Prohysteroceras wordiei was named by Spath (1922). Its type specimen is BMNH C.20086, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 291, edge of 500-feet plateau above Old Lobito, which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in Angola.
