It was assigned to Antiacodontidae by Marsh (1872); to Mixodectidae by Hay (1902); to Bunomerycidae by Gentry and Hooker (1988); to Homacodontini by McKenna and Bell (1997); to Homacodontidae by Theodor et al. (2007); and to Antiacodontinae by Carroll (1988), Stucky (1998), Dawson and Constenius (2018).
