Taxonomy
Glyptodon jatunkhirkhi was named by Cuadrelli et al. (2020). Its type specimen is CP-GMY 01, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yamparáez, which is in a Pleistocene alluvial fan sandstone/conglomerate in Bolivia.
