Taxonomy
Nemegtonykus citus was named by Lee et al. (2019). Its type specimen is MPC-D 100/203, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Altan Ula III [KID], which is in a Maastrichtian fluvial sandstone/mudstone in the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia.
