Taxonomy
Cretolamna woodwardi was named by Herman (1977). Its type specimen is BMNH 39053, a set of teeth (associated set of teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Cretoxyrhina woodwardi by Biddle (1993); it was synonymized subjectively with Pseudoisurus tomosus by Siverson (1997); it was recombined as Dwardius woodwardi by Siverson (1999), Guinot et al. (2013).
