Pholadomya clementina was named by Anderson (1938). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 1691, Clements Ranch, Redding (=Reading) Creek, , which is in a Hauterivian marine horizon in the Budden Canyon Formation of California.
