Desmoscaphites bassleri

Taxonomy
Desmoscaphites bassleri was named by Reeside (1927). Its type specimen is USNM 73358, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Mesozoic Loc. 10141. Just west of Hogback Mountain, which is in a Turonian marine shale in the Mancos Formation of New Mexico.
