Proetus vescus

Taxonomy
Proetus vescus was named by Zhou et al. (2000). Its type specimen is XIG TR474, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is A033. Zhusilenghaierhan area, which is in an Eifelian carbonate limestone in the Yikewsusu Formation of China.

Zhou et al. 2000Proetus with subcylindrical glabella, 0.7 to 0.75 times as wide as long; S1 and $2 narrow, weakly incised, each slightly indenting flank of glabella; anterior border steeply declined, dorsoventrally deep in anterior view; palpebral lobe small, lacking palpebral furrow; coarse granules towards posterior of part of glabella, but absent from frontal lobe; pygidium with interpleural furrows laterally effaced; distinct border outside paradoublural line.
