E. Perrier 1928Crâne sans arcs temporaux (post-orbitaire et post-fronto-squamosal), clavicules dilatées, présentant une perforation à leur extrémité sternale (sauf, chez les UROPLATIDAE). Vertèbres amphicèles, sauf chez les EUBLEPHARIDÆ Doigts généralement adhésifs; yeux à paupières généralement rudimentaires (sauf chez les EOBLEPHARIDÆ) mais recouverts d'une membrane transparente (probablement la membrane nictitante) derrière, laquelle l'œil peut se mouvoir. Langue large et épaisse, charnue (CRASSILINGUES), exsertile, légèrement échancrée avant, papilles squamien sans formes, ni plis obliques.
