Taxonomy
Serranidarum serratus was named by Frost (1934). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Island Creek, which is in a Chattian marine mudstone in the Ihungia Formation of New Zealand.
It was recombined as Acropoma serratus by Schwarzhans (1980); it was recombined as Acropoma serrata by Schwarzhans (2019).
