Taxonomy
Saurichthys sceltrichensis was named by Renesto et al. (2021). Its type specimen is MCNS 8505, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Valle di Sceltrich, which is in a Ladinian carbonate lime mudstone in the Meride Formation of Switzerland.
