Yamatosaurus izanagii
Taxonomy
Yamatosaurus izanagii was named by Kobayashi et al. (2021). Its type specimen is MNHAH D1-033516, a partial skeleton (dentary, surangular, teeth, vertebrae, coracoid), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aw14, Mitsugawa, which is in a Maastrichtian marine mudstone in the Kita-ama Formation of Japan. It is the type species of Yamatosaurus.
