Taxonomy
Poromya gabbiana was named by Anderson and Martin (1914). Its type specimen is CAS 109 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 126, which is in a Miocene marine horizon in the Temblor Formation of California.
It was recombined as Psamosolen gabbiana by Loel and Corey (1932).
