Taxonomy
Platax minor was named by Pictet (1850). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hakel (Boissier collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal carbonate in Lebanon.
It was recombined as Aipichthys minor by Patterson (1964), Otero and Gayet (1996).
