Taxonomy
Palaeobalistum libanicum was named by Gorjanović-Kramberger (1895). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Haqel (MCSN Trieste collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal carbonate in Lebanon.
