Taxonomy
Engraulis tenuis was named by Davis (1887). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hakel (Lewis collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal carbonate in Lebanon.
It was recombined as Exocoetoides tenuis by Gorjanović-Kramberger (1895).
