Centra of all precaudal vertebrae some- what elongated dorso-ventrally and lack regular con- centric calcifications (“annuli”). Lower lobe of caudal fin small; length at least four times in length of upper lobe. Gill rakers up to 50 mm high under full length of fish of approximately 3 m; their apical portions mod- erately curved at base, medial process of base of mid- dle rakers with moderate length, significantly greater than width of bight, which is usually subangular; angu- larity of bight greater expressed with larger length of medial process; articular edge of medial process rounded; basal edge varies from rounded to subangu- lar; base high. Dentition unknown.
