Restesia americana
Taxonomy
Squatirhina americana was named by Estes (1964). Its type specimen is UCMP 55820, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lull 2 Quarry (UCMP V-5620), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial sandstone in the Lance Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Restesia.
It was recombined as Restesia americana by Cook et al. (2014).
