Acmaea digitalis was named by Eschscholtz (1833). It is extant.

It was recombined as Collisella digitalis by Kern (1977); it was recombined as Acmaea (Collisella) digitalis by Susuki and Stadum (1978); it was recombined as Lottia digitalis by Kennedy (1992) and Hendy (2021).
